Baytown ACE (Art Culture and Entertainment) district. The 10-block ACE District showcases outdoor art, hosts cultural events, and is a venue for live entertainment. It is home to Baytown Little Theater, the Art Center of Baytown, and the Baytown Symphony Orchestra in this Downtown Arts District, as well as restaurants and boutiques. We participated in this revitalization project and secured a grants from the city to reimagine the façade of the old Texan theater building.
The face when we began the project was disjointed, we also had to respond to the city new guideline of not protruding into the sidewalk. We divided the façade into two zones, one was the dynamic commercial storefront, which put on display the activates in the commercial spaces and the other is the zone above the storefront reserved for signage. The two zones are separated by a double tee wall and awning element.
